We speak with Karen Babine about her new book Water and What We Know: Following the Roots of a Northern Life. She is an assistant professor of English at Concordia College and her essays have appeared in River Teeth, Sycamore Review, North Dakota Quarterly, Ascent and elsewhere.
We also chat with representatives of the Normandale Writing Festival, including our own Lynette Reini-Grandell, poet and festival chair Kris Bigalk, and our own Amy Fladeboe. Lynette has a poetry collection, Approaching the Gate, recently out and Kris Bigalk also has a poetry collection available, Repeat the Flesh in Numbers. All three teach at Normandale.
